Is prayer in your life all that God longs for it to be?

We recognize the value of prayer. We’ve heard that it’s powerful, and we know our need for it, yet we sense that there’s so much more to prayer. We desire a close, personal connection with God, yet somehow it eludes us. What if prayer in our lives has shifted away from what God intended it to be?

Could it be we need a Prayeradigm Shift?

A paradigm is our frame of reference that we use to guide our thoughts, feelings, and actions. A paradigm shift is a change in that frame of reference, a new normal, a new way of looking at the world and guiding what we think, feel, and do.

When it comes to prayer, we each have our own personal paradigms, and God has His ultimate paradigm–of what He designed prayer to be and to do. God desires to shift our personal “prayeradigms” and bring them into harmony with His “prayeradigm”.

Prayeradigm Shift is about:

  • A shift in our understanding of prayer, to align our thoughts with God’s thoughts.
  • A shift in our desires in prayer, letting God bring our hearts into harmony with His heart.
  • A shift in how we pray, learning to seek God’s plans and surrender to His leading.

Wherever you are on your journey with prayer, and with knowing God, He has more waiting for you.

“I feel strongly convicted that God has been leading in the development of the Prayeradigm Shift initiative.  I believe this event will serve as a catalyst in drawing many into a deeper more vibrant relationship with Jesus and love for their neighbors.”

Jeremy McCombs, Church Ministries and Discipleship Director Upper Columbia Conference

“Prayer is the most important aspect of our relationship with Jesus and with others. It is only through prayer that we can abide with Jesus and follow His path — His will — for our lives. Communication with our Creator is the key ingredient that brings life!”

Kathy Marsan, UCC Prayer Ministry Coordinator
