Join us February 22-25, 2024 for a special prayer weekend for youth.

Schools in the North Pacific Union are invited to participate in a weekend prayer retreat for youth at Camp MiVoden. This retreat will focus on teaching our youth principles of prayer, helping them grow in the practice of prayer in their lives, and empowering them to share what they have learned.

In this inspiring weekend you will:

  • Hear prayer stories and experiences that will encourage you to know God more and desire to see Him show up in big ways.
  • Spend time connecting with others, sharing your journeys, and seeing how God is at work.
  • Learn new ideas and practical ways for how to seek God’s plans and impact your corner of the world.

Join us as we learn more about prayer and the power of what God can do when youth pray.

How To Participate

Schools are invited to send a group of teens (grades 9-12) and sponsors who will journey through the weekend together. Participants will be strengthened in their relationship with each other and with God. Groups will return from the weekend with the goal of sharing what they have learned and building prayer into their lives and school. Registration information will be available to schools this Fall.

Meet Our Speaker

Pavel Goia is our speaker for the event. His stories and experiences will inspire, challenge, and encourage our youth to know God more and desire to see Him show up in big ways. Pavel’s message for us is that God longs to be involved in each of our lives in ways we have never imagined.

Pavel is the Associate Ministerial Secretary for the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He is known for his stories of the countless miracles he has seen in his own life, and many of these are shared in the books, One Miracle After Another: The Pavel Goia Story and In the Spirit and Power.

“I feel strongly convicted that God has been leading in the development of the Prayeradigm Shift initiative.  I believe this event will serve as a catalyst in drawing many into a deeper more vibrant relationship with Jesus and love for their neighbors.”

Jeremy McCombs, Church Ministries and Discipleship Director Upper Columbia Conference

“Prayer is the most important aspect of our relationship with Jesus and with others. It is only through prayer that we can abide with Jesus and follow His path — His will — for our lives. Communication with our Creator is the key ingredient that brings life!”

Kathy Marsan, UCC Prayer Ministry Coordinator

Questions and Answers

Here are answers to questions we think you may have. Have a question not answered here? Email us at prayeradigmshift@gmail.com. Please note that we’re all volunteers and may take up to 72 hours to respond.

The goal of this retreat is for youth (and all of us!) to grow in a deeper knowledge of God and learn more about prayer. Each youth and sponsor plays a crucial role in making this event successful and we need your help throughout the weekend.

Youth should expect to:

  • Be involved the entire weekend
  • Hear inspiring messages from Pavel
  • Have discussions with your peers about what you are learning
  • Spend time in prayer practicing what you are learning
  • Participate in group team-building activities
  • Share ideas about how to put into practice what you’re learning when you go back home

Notes for adult sponsors:

  • Expect to be involved the entire weekend
  • Plan to participate with the teens in all aspects of the weekend schedule – worships, activities, meals, etc.
  • Be prepared to supervise & facilitate small groups of teens when needed
  • Be responsible for your teens at all times – know where they are & what they are doing

Groups will return from the weekend with the goal of building prayer into their lives and sharing what they have learned with their school. Each school will be encouraged to think prayerfully and creatively about how to share with their peers back home. Content from the weekend will be available as a resource for schools.

Talk to your principal and let them know you want to participate.

Each school is invited to send a group of students and sponsors to attend the event at Camp MiVoden. Your principal will be helping facilitate who from your school comes and will have the information needed for you to register.

Because space at Camp MiVoden is limited, registration for the event will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis. We would love to have representation from all of the academies and junior academies in the NPUC.

The prices for the weekend include dorm-type lodging, food, and materials.

Prices are as follows:

  • Student (grades 9-12): $185
  • Adult Sponsor: $185

We want to make sure that everyone who wants to come to this retreat can come. We are working with schools, the Upper Columbia Conference, the North Pacific Union, and private donors to provide financial assistance to help where needed.

If the cost of this retreat does not fit in your budget, talk to your principal about the option of being financially sponsored. If your school is unable to financially sponsor you to attend and you need some help coming to the retreat, please email us at prayeradigmshift@gmail.com.

Your information will be kept strictly confidential, and our scholarships coordinator will contact you as soon as possible.

The deadline for submitting a scholarship request is February 6th at midnight.

Registration

REGISTERING: We would love for your school to register below! It’s fast and easy. Each school will need a code to register students and sponsors, and that code will be available to your principal. We need one leader to register for your school. The leader will need to register all of the students and sponsors attending from their school.
